About this hardware

A full point of sale in a small footprint: an 8" HD touchscreen, high-speed thermal printer, cash drawer port and barcode scanning, with Ethernet, Wi-Fi and LTE.

The Clover Mini 3 is a full point-of-sale system in a countertop footprint. It has an 8-inch HD touchscreen, a high-speed thermal receipt printer, a cash drawer port and camera-based barcode scanning, so a small business can run register, orders, inventory and reporting from one unit rather than assembling a till, terminal and printer separately.

It fits counters where space is the constraint but capability is not: cafes, small retail, salons, bakeries, and service counters that need a proper till without a full station footprint. Two USB type A ports and a cash drawer port cover the usual peripherals, and there is a USB type B port for connecting the Mini 3 to another supported POS system, which is useful when it works as a payment device alongside existing software rather than as the main register.

Connectivity runs over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G LTE. Payment acceptance is swipe, chip and contactless including NFC, certified to PCI PTS 6.x. Accessibility is covered through volume controls beside the screen, voice guidance via the audio jack, passive stylus support and a high-contrast theme.

Two things to be clear about. The internal 1000 mAh pack is a backup cell, not a runtime battery - the spec sheet gives battery operation time as not supported, so this is a mains-powered countertop unit and not a portable one. And if you need a customer-facing screen, the Mini 3 has a single display; a dual-screen unit such as the Station Duo 2 is the option there.

If you are comparing quotes, check the generation. Clover lists Mini 2 and Mini 3 as separate devices and much sales material refers simply to "Clover Mini". The specifications on this page are the Mini 3.

Which Clover software plan the system runs, whether LTE is included and on what data terms, and which peripherals are supplied depend on your account rather than the hardware, so we confirm them during setup. Clover hardware requires a merchant processing agreement.

About the Clover Mini

Will this work with my processing arrangement?
That is confirmed before anything is ordered. A terminal has to be certified for the acquiring arrangement your account runs on, and Apex checks that against your specific setup rather than assuming it.
Why are there no prices on these pages?
Hardware is quoted against how and where it will be used - how many units, whether they are bought or supplied with an account, and what has to integrate with them. A single published figure would be wrong more often than it was right, so we quote instead.
Why do some products show no specifications?
Apex publishes a specification only after it has been checked against product data. A record marked as an illustrative example represents a category of hardware we can source, and publishes nothing technical at all until there is something confirmed to publish.
What happens when a terminal fails?
Replacement and support terms are agreed as part of the arrangement rather than left to the day it matters. Ask about them before you order, not after.
